As you will see this is very similar to what we did in [this](https://watch-learn.com/making-websites-nextjs-and-strapi/add-data-strapi-nextjs) Next.js and Strapi series episode. This is because we used JWT authentication in both cases. So we will firstly authenticate ourselves to the WordPress installation using JWT, and then we will add some data to our posts with the token provided from JWT. This a super easy way to add authentication and allow your users to create content from the frontend of your site.

In this episode we are going to be using WordPress REST API to add some new posts to our database with vanilla JavaScript.

Luckily October CMS already has this functionality out baked in, all you have to do is configure that page and implement the data into your site or your theme.

A lot of people have asked me to do this video and also there have been some questions online about it, so I'm guessing a lot of people are having trouble with it.

So controllers are basically buckets in which you can put the business logic for your theme in, and then have access to those functions inside your templates. We want to do this so that our templates stay clean and not polluted with PHP code. If you are using Sage for your WordPress theme developemt I would suggest using controllers whenever possible. It will make your templates so much cleaner.

In the [previous episode](https://watch-learn.com/creating-rent-car-app-vue-and-october/making-reservation) we had some problems with the JWT plugin that we were using. We had to install octobro api plugin to make everything work. In the past few weeks I talked to [Ricardo](https://github.com/rluders), the creator of the plugin, he was very helpfull, and we worked together (mostly him) to fix those problems.

So in this episode we are going to remove octobro api plugin, and make everything work as it's supposed to.

Fixing JWT

In the [last episode](https://watch-learn.com/creating-rent-car-app-vue-and-october/persisting-state) we created a confirmation page for our checkout process. Now we are going to go into OctoberCMS, create a Reservation model, make relations with our Users and Vehicles and create a route that will create the actual reservation using PHP.

After that, in Vue, we are going to create methods that will send collected data to that route and make the reservation. We are also going to learn how to protect that route so that not just anybody can make that reservation. 

And unfortunately we are going to run into some trouble, but I will show you how to make it work anyways.
