So first we are going to list our WordPress categories in our Sapper and Svelte app. An then of course we wanna display the posts from those categories once the user clicks on a certain category.

However, as you will learn in this video, this will not be the preferred of doing this, so I will [dedicate one episode](https://watch-learn.com/creating-svelte-sapper-and-wordpress-website/refactoring-making-it-ssr-ready) in the future to refactor this code and make it better and more performat. But that is not to say that this method will not be valuable on your Svelte and Sapper journey - because it definitely will be.

In this episode of we are going to learn how to handle categories from WordPress in our Sapper for Svelte app.

Handling Categories

In the [previous episode](http://watch-learn.com/video-tutorials/making-websites-with-october-cms-part-09-images-and-galleries) we had a little taste of relations when we linked our poster image with the Movie model, and also when creating our movie gallery. We are going to continue with that in this episode with movie genres. You can look at movie genres like categories for our movies.

We are going to create pivot table in this episode which will serve as a link between our Movie model and our Genre model, and this is the way we will be able to know which movie belongs to which genre and vice versa.

In this episode we are going to be talking about relations in October CMS, this is one of the most important things you have to understand in October to be able to successfully link your content together.

Relations

Just like we did with the images in the [previous video](http://watch-learn.com/video-tutorials/theming-with-wp-rest-api-part-03-add-images-to-api/) we will have to manipulate our REST API a little bit to get the names of our categories. But us you will see that is not hard at all, because WordPress has some handy functions for doing that.

In this Theming With WP REST API tutorial we are going to display categories bellow titles of our posts using Vue.js and WordPress API.

Display Categories

If you are doing basic WordPress site you are sure going to come to a need for displaying your posts by certain tags or categories. Collectively these are called taxonomies, they are a way for you to categorize your site into some logical parts.

In this episode we are going to learn how you can display posts that belong to certain categories, tags or even how to display posts that don't belong into those taxonomies.

For this we are going to be using `cat`, `tag`, `category__in`, `tag__not_in` and similar properties that `WP_Query` object provides for us.

In this WordPress Custom Query tutorials we are going to tackle displaying our posts by filtering them with tags and categories.

Taxonomy

In Middleman they are called "Custom Article Collections" and they can be any kind of taxonomy you want. Also they are a bit limited and not as advanced like in WordPress or Drupal. But if you combine them with tags you should be OK.
